Get ready to celebrate Ocean Week Canada! From June 1 to 9, 2024, join Water Rangers and partners from coast to coast in honoring our deep connection to the ocean. As an official partner of Ocean Week Canada, we’re thrilled to announce our mini-grant program, designed to support educators, community groups, organizations, and individuals in organizing events that celebrate our oceanic ties.
What is Ocean Week Canada?
Ocean Week Canada is an annual national celebration held during World Ocean Day (June 8) week. It’s a time to engage in events, learning activities, and community initiatives that highlight the importance of our oceans and their connection to our daily lives. Led by the Canadian Ocean Literacy Coalition (COLC), Ocean Week Canada aims to raise awareness, inspire action, and foster a deeper understanding of ocean issues across the country.

Browse the shopAre you eager to contribute to Ocean Week Canada? Water Rangers is here to help! We’re offering mini-grants to cover up to 90% of the costs for Water Rangers equipment that you can use to organize Ocean Week Canada events.
Whether you’re planning water quality testing, community shoreline cleanups, group paddles, restoration work, or awareness campaigns, our grants can support your initiative! All events from May 1 to June 30 celebrating our connection to the ocean are eligible. You can organize an activity publicly or privately or find an event near you!
How to apply
Simply fill out our short application form by March 31, 2024, to request equipment for your Ocean Week Canada event. We’ll be selecting recipients on a rolling basis, so don’t wait too long! All selected applicants will be notified by April 12, 2024. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to us.
